What’s the difference between headshots and portraits? That’s a good question and we’ll spare you the nitty gritty of delving into the different types of portrait sessions.

But basically, a headshots is a type of portrait.

Many people need professional headshots for their company’s website, or a new business they’re launching. (As well as photos/videos of them in action at work - all of which we do. Promo videos for businesses is one of our very favourite types of work.)

But portraits, as a category, is broader. It can encompass engagement photos, wedding portraits, portraits of someone with their dog or family.

Sometimes people want/need straightforward headshots for their business. And you can never go wrong with this! But if you want to have a more creative headshots session that lets in a bit more of your personality or showcases you in different sorts of lights, that’s great too. One of the many things we love about running a photography and videography business in southern Ontario is that our work takes us to all sorts of different places. One week we might be in our photography studio taking photos of headshot sessions or business branding videos, the next, we might be on-location documenting someone’s small business in action. We love that over the last decade, we’ve done photos and videos for large and small companies, headshots for individuals and corporations, event photography. Our photo and video work takes us all over the province (and country - and sometimes out of the country) and we especially love it when we get to be outside taking photos and videos.

But we always love doing photo and video sessions in our photo studio. There’s something about having our own space to create unique images and videos that lends itself to letting our creativity explode.

In our photo studio, we use a combination of ambient and external lighting to create mood and document people the way they want to be seen.
