In the meantime, here are some mini updates:
We've been pretty anti-social as our heavy work season winds down, but will eventually be socially again....I think?

In the meantime .... we took a little time this weekend to have a family baking day.
It was pretty awesome. We've already eaten/shared most of them. In the spirit of giving, here's our chocolate chip cookie recipe (sorry we don't have any photos):
Chocolate chip cookies:
1 cup crisco
3/4 cup white sugar (I usually do like 1/2)
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp hot water
1 tsp vanilla (I usually add 2)
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 cups oats
12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate
Cream Crisco until smooth, add sugars, add eggs one a a time, beating after each addition. Add hot water and vanilla, then sifted dry ingredients. (I hardly ever sift, haha.) Add oats and chocolate and roll into 1-inch balls. Cook on 375 for 7-10 minutes (I do a light golden brown on top.)
