Such Sweet Sorrow

Our alarm was set for 6-something this morning and Jonathan made the first of a few airport runs this week-our peeps are heading off for a summer in India, Thailand and Cambodia.

How grand.

It's been a bit of a nostalgic week, with these pending goodbyes, tempered only by the fact they are coming back to our arms at the onset of fall.

Anyone who knows me well (or maybe even just a little) knows that I talk about seasons a lot. Seasons of grace, seasons with people and places.

And I was thinking about it all yesterday-in a wee 10-minute window when all was quiet and I was outside, wind at my back.

This has been a wonderfully sweet season, a life-giving place.

Having these 4 here has been so happy for me. They are so solid, so wonderful, thoughtful and true.

So fly away, dear ones-but come back too. I'm not ready for my season with you to end (for a few more decades.)

And yes, they call us mom and dad. We like it-all the glories of parenting, but without the awkward years. Tehe.

Perfection.

One of our highlights of any week is having the #2104rwt here for dinner on Tuesdays.

 Sometimes we dissect the week's lessons, sometimes we just tell stories about our parents. Tonight we talked about scary and funny moments from our lives.

Hot meal, long talks, sometimes some wine.

It's always simple. A sublime simple. I'd take it forever.

These guys are such a joy to be around, and it doesn't get much better than these sweet times. I'm so grateful for each and every one of these guys and am excited we have so much time left of their track journey.

{Also, this may be the first time in the history of track that the guys have outnumbered the girls. I like it.}
