It's hard to describe the feelings that come with a request to document a birth. To be invited into such an intimate time is so humbling...and excessively exciting.

It's obviously ridiculous to say that I felt the waiting period as much as Baby E's parents did, but I was obsessive about checking my phone and planning my life around his pending arrival. Through the weeks leading up to the birth, mother Steph and I formed quite a bond through our copious communications. She's a gem and everything about my time with this sweet family has been a gift.

In short, documenting Baby E's welcome into the world was wonderful, a highlight of my summer. 

He is perfect and oh-so-loved.

Newborn Lifestyle Session//Toronto

When we met them nearly four years ago to talk about shooting their wedding, we didn't realize at the time that not only would Alicia and Kevin be some of the best people in the world, but also, we would grow to be close friends with them. 

Through the years we've happily connected every few months - sharing life stories over Indian or Thai dishes. We've been excited with them over their first pregnancy and their beautiful son who was born months later. We were having lunch at their condo when we found out about their second pregnancy and the Laynie half of us was able to do a newborn lifestyle session with them at their place in Toronto a couple of weeks ago with baby boy #2.

So enjoy a few pictures of this sweet family to launch your week. If a baby doesn't make you smile, we don't know what will.
