And I'm grateful.
To let you know a bit about where we are-this is the busiest month of our summer. We have a lot of photo jobs (for which we are grateful), we are house shopping, we are going out of town a couple of times (including a trip to see our friends Max & Cambria tie the knot!), and I just started my new job as a barista at The Bucks of Star.
Side note: Today was day #3 of Starbucks training. My shifts have gone like this:
#1 Laynie is completely overwhelmed.
#2 Laynie starts on the espresso bar and confidence is boosted. Laynie even makes a few drinks for customers and they don't seem to notice she is a poser.
#3 Laynie hits a wall of complete exhaustion and a takes few steps backwards in her world of coffee with a swirling brain before feeling...slightly better a few hours into the shift.
But when I went to the back room at work today, I found some notes my new co-workers had left me. What? It was The Sweetest and their kind words were very needed.
And when Jonathan dropped off a DVD of photos to one of our clients today, they had a card all ready for us-
What??! They do know the way to my heart-and we just met. (We are already trying to plan a date night-or 2-of course.)
So, in the midst of our full plates, I will say that I am grateful for:
-a kind new boss who is willing to work with my crazy schedule (*Thank you, Tiff!*)
-ultimate frisbee with friends on Monday nights
-our cute and cozy apartment
-our health
-new opportunities
-loyal friends
-Tuesdays OFF
-moments of grace
-the Grimes letting us use their washer/dryer every week
-our photo equipment (including harddrives and computers)-we are so blessed and have been able to upgrade heaps slowly but surely over the last two years
-lots of work
-getting to see a few heart friends in the next couple of weeks
-summer evenings
and
-being married to The Jonathan.
