Ice-Cream Dream//Dairee Delite

One of our Very Favourite places in all of Canada (yes, this is true) is a wee local legend named Dariee Delite. We talk about them all the time and crave their creamy goodness pretty much any time we aren't eating it.

I think you get the picture-we're fans.

So it was such an honour to do a shoot with them last week. We aren't posting many photos on here-we'll let them show you the goods in their own time. But enjoy this teensy sneak peek.

And a fatty, fatty THANK YOU to Vintage Vélo who loaned us a couple of their bikes for the shoot and Volkswagen Brantford who brought along some camping charm. And THANKS to our gorgeous models, Holly and Derek-y'all made the shoot complete.

So happy drooling as you peruse the images and just remember that you probably need a cold treat to kick off the weekend.

#brokenshirewedding2014

In case we forgot to mention it, we've been in Montana this week, to celebrate the wedding of our dear friends Sarah and Sam.
They're kind of quirky and having a Wednesday wedding was right up their alley.

We both got to stand up with these dear ones, so our week has been full of bridal duties, catching up and lots of sweet memories.

We shot about 20 frames on our film camera (coming soon) and a few more at the very end as they exited.

Sometimes it's just so lovely to keep our cameras packed away and BE fully in each moment.
Be watching for some sweet as snaps from photographer Sam from today's celebration.

We also got to give a wee speech...I've had so many versions of what this speech would entail and many of them were far, far too long. Jonathan's half was super cute and mine went something like this...

For those of you who don’t know me, I staffed Sarah’s DTS 5.5 years ago.
After that, she and I traveled on a team of 11 girls around the world over the course of a couple of years. That was a treat.
It’s funny now-and I had to apologize to her for it later-but for the first year or so that we were together, I didn’t really see Sarah.
I knew she was nice and funny and didn’t really cause any waves, but it took me awhile to realize the depths of heart and soul that reside behind that hilarious laugh and sometimes quiet demeanor.
This girl has a heart of gold.
And the more I discovered, the more shocked I was that I’d been missing out on such levels of sweet friendship.
Sarah sees the bigger picture-in individuals, in relationships, in the world as a whole-more than almost anyone else I know.
She can be quiet, but she has a strength and a perseverance that speaks to the person of character she is inside.
I have never known her to complain-and I’m not making that up.
In the most frustrating of situations, with the most infuriating of people, she can still stand back try to bring some perspective to what they are feeling and why.
Her compassion knows no limits.

And (not that my vote counted) but from the very start I have loved Sam for Sarah. Because I love Sam on his own.
He’s big-hearted, warm, lovable and insanely kind.
We’ve had heart talks and hard talks and have managed to form a beautiful friendship of our own.

Once he offered to come to Ontario and fix whatever needed fixing on our house. I said, “Oh yeah, if we buy your tickets that would be amazing.”
Sam, “I wasn’t even asking you to buy our tickets.”

And a couple of weeks ago, after Sarah’s disaster of a birthday, we met at a wedding and didn’t get to bed until 2 a.m. These two insisted on getting up at 4:45 to drive me to the airport for my flight. And despite the earliness of the hour, Sam and I still managed to have some good heart-to-heart conversation.
Sarah…who loyally insisted on coming…was asleep in the back seat.

I’ve had the gift of hanging out with them at least a couple of times in the months they’ve been engaged and every time I tried to talk about the wedding, the conversation was short and they’d come back around to asking me questions about my life. To be honest, I was a little shocked when I got into town and found out that not only was the wedding going to be lovely because Sam and Sarah were in it, but it was going to be lovely because of the 1000 little details they’ve worked into this day. I think we can all agree that this wedding is stunning.

Sam and Sarah, I love you, I respect you, I admire you.

Thank you for including us in your lives and in your day. We can’t wait to make many, many more memories with you both in the future as we grow and learn and love together.
