This is one of many words I've needed to look up over the past month of school. I've also been confounded by structuralism, theodicy, otiose....
I have a running list as long as a page in my notebook.
I gave a presentation in my class yesterday and found out at the end that I'd mispronounced hegemony which was the main point I was making.

As overwhelming as it's been (and I've certainly spent the last two months trying to keep my head above water), I love it. I love the challenge of learning new things, contemplating new ideas, meeting people who think differently than me. I love books and papers and walking through a campus in the fall.
I love teaching a class (I have a *mini* teaching assignment each Monday), buying books, and spending all my free time studying. I'm already inspired to get my PhD.
...we'll keep you posted.
